Dr. Cradduck uses state-of-the-art dental technology to ensure that his patients are as comfortable as possible, and also to make treatment more effective and efficient. Here's some of the technology you'll find us using at Hagerstown Family Dental.
X-rays are an invaluable tool that helps Dr. Cradduck detect many dental conditions in their earliest stages. Many patients have concerns about the safety of x-rays, and we want to assure you that at Hagerstown Family Dental we use digital x-rays, which emit 80% less radiation for patients than traditional x-rays. Digital imaging is also safer for the environment because there are no harsh chemicals required for developing them.
Digital x-rays are readily available to review, so Dr. Cradduck can discuss any pertinent treatment needs with you right away. We recommend that you have standard bitewing x-rays taken at least once each year in order to monitor your oral health.
A panoramic x-ray is a larger image of all of your teeth. This type of x-ray is typically recommended every five years or so to monitor your oral health. It's also used in planning implant placement surgeries or orthodontic treatment. This image can also be taken digitally, so you'll have minimal exposure to radiation.
A soft tissue laser can help make a variety of procedures such as eliminating canker sores, periodontal treatments, and gum contouring more comfortable and efficient for patients. By using concentrated light and heat, the laser is able to eliminate diseased tissues while protecting healthy tissues and accelerating the healing process.
